10月9日 STRIKEWell on Sat my husbands union contract was up at his place of employment. Well as you can tell from the heading they are on strike. It really sucks. Things are going to be really, really tight for a while. Hopefully he can find some side jobs to do to make up for the lost wages. What really sucks is that he has to stand out and picket from 3am to 7am. That really sucks. Hopefully the company comes back with a better offer soon. So any of you out there that may know of someone that needs some side jobs done in the Bismarck ND area let me know. That we be great. Well I have to get back to making some money.
9月15日 YIKES SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!So mother nature has decided to mess with us. The weather man is saying we could get some snow flakes this week-end. YES I said snow flakes. WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is only Sept 15th. It can not snow yet. That will make for a very long winter.
Last week-end our softball team played in a tourny and we took first place. It was pretty awesome. We 15 ran the first two teams we played and beat the last team by 7 runs. It was pretty fun. 3 first place trophys in one season. Not bad. Volleyball started on Monday night and we won all three matches. Our team is actually really good
I took some pictures of my demolished kitchen and I will post them. I also have some pictures of my cabinets and will post them too.
8月31日 Wow Labor Day Week-endWell I can't believe it is Labor Day week-end already. I don't know where this summer went. I feel like it flew by and I didn't even have a chance to enjoy it. We are planning on going camping this week-end. But we do have a wedding on Sat. So we'll see what happens.
Well the cabinets are almost ripped out. The wall is getting patched in and the ceiling is ready to be sprayed in the kitchen. I can't wait until it is done because I hate living out of boxes and not having any cabinets. We just have to go and buy flooring and a dishwasher yet. Then we are all set. I can't wait. Maybe Waylon will get some of it done while I am in Dickinson next week-end playing softball. He was hoping to get it done next week when the plant is laid off but LUCKY us his department isn't laid off. Which is a big thing with contract coming up and all the crap that the company is saying they are going to do away with his union might go on strike. I really hope not!!! We aren't exactly ready for a long strike.
Well gotta get back to work. Everyone have a GREAT Labor Day Weekend!!!!!!!!!! 8月14日 What a Year in SoftballWell this has been the best year in softball ever. Our team took first place in our league and this week-end we had our state tourny. We won our first game and then lost the second game. So we had to play on Sunday morning at 8:00am. Not only did we have to play the team that we lost to but we had to play in the pouring rain. But we did win. And we continued to win on Sunday. We played a total of 4 games and out scored the other teams 38-6. So we ended up taking first place in the Roughrider division of the State tourney. It's not first in State but hey we got a trophy. And to make matters even better the team that did win the state tournament we beat at the McQuades tournament. So we can say we beat the State champs. On Sat. after we lost our second game we decided we were going to go to the batting cages because our batting sucked. But then my husband points out "no one is playing on the guys diamonds, lets just go over there." Well we all thought that was a good idea then we wouldn't have to pay to practice batting plus I could get in some pitching practice. Well while I was pitching to the first batter, she hit a line drive back at me and I thought I had my glove ready to catch it but I didn't and took it straight to the calf. Holy Crap did it hurt. And it swelled up immediately. And it still hurts and is black and blue and is about at big as a mens softball and hurts all the way to the back of my leg and down to my ankle. Well Sunday I did play the first two games. And the longer I walked on it the less it hurt. But it really hurt to run. And when I would sit down I could hardly walk when I would stand up. So we then made the decision that I would just EH for the next two games because I couldn't run after balls out in the field. All in all it was a great week-end.
8月4日 Where did the summer go?Where did this summer go? I can't believe it is August already. And it is still hot. Today it is suppose to be about 100. And we haven't had any rain for over a month.
Last night I got to babysit Erin. She is such a little doll. But what a mom and daddy's girl. We had to have a picture out so that she could see them all the time or she would get mad. Then I took her outside and she crawled up and down the stairs. When Kacey and Chris came back she sure started showing off. She tried walking everywhere. She will just stand up in the middle of the room, wabble and fall over unless you put your arm out then she grabs on and stands and tries running, not walking, running. She is funny.
Well we have decided to put new cupboards in the kitchen. We also decided to add a dishwasher. This is going to be quite the task. Today we are going to go and have the plans drawn out on the computer. Maybe we will pick out our dishwasher too. We figured this would just add to the price of the house when we decide to sell it after contract at Bobcat. (Hopefully they don't go on strike!!!!) We are also going to put in new flooring since there is a big patch job where we knocked out the wall when we moved in. I don't know what we are going to do about the ceiling yet. But the big cost is the cupboards, counter top, and dishwasher. I just hope we can do it all ourselves. I will keep you all updated. |
